On July 29, the Federal Motor Transport Authority of Germany (KBA) granted Momenta an L4 autonomous driving testing permit covering urban roads nationwide. This makes Momenta the first Chinese company eligible to conduct Robotaxi tests across Germany without the need to file applications city by city.
KBA is renowned for its stringent regulations. The significance of this permit lies in that its safety verification standards are directly aligned with the EU regulatory framework, effectively serving as pan-European endorsement for Momenta. Munich will be the first city for the rollout of its collaboration with Uber.
Separately, Uber increased its stake in Momenta via its wholly-owned subsidiary SMB Holding through the Hong Kong share placement. This deepens the partnership from technical cooperation to equity tie-up. Momenta's Hong Kong-listed stock surged more than 9% intraday.
On the same day, SAIC MG launched pre-sales for the MG07. Starting at 125,900 RMB, the vehicle is equipped with Momenta's R7 World Model solution.
With approval secured under Europe's strictest regulatory regime on one hand, and penetration into the 120,000-yuan vehicle segment on the other, Momenta is advancing on two fronts simultaneously.
